Mustang Coaching Staff

 Varsity Coach Lindsay PetersonThis fall will be Coach Peterson's 10th year at Millard North. She attended Millard North High school and graduated in 2001 with a volleyball scholarship to play at the University of North Alabama. In her junior year, the Lions won a D2 National Championship. Upon returning home to Omaha she began teaching in OPS and was the head assistant varsity coach at Omaha Burke for 4 years. After 4 years she took the head Varsity volleyball coaching job at Millard North and a teaching job at Kiewit Middle School. Her teams have made it to state the last 7 of those 9 years. They have won the Metro Conference Championship twice, once in 2017 and again in 2018. In 2016 she lead the Mustangs to a Class A State Championship and again in 2018. The 2018 team had a 38-2 record and was named a Top 10 team in the country by AVCA/Max preps. Peterson also was awarded one of the Top 40 coaches in the country in 2018 by the AVCA/Max preps and she was the Omaha World Herald's Female Coach of the year in that same year. 

Varsity Assistant Kayla Torson-
Kalya is from Cedar Rapids, Iowa where she played club volleyball for the Iowa Rockets. In 2012, her team won the USAV National Championship. In 2013, her team placed 2nd in the Open Division. In high school, she earned Metro Valley Conference Player of the Year in back-to-back years. From 2015 to 2017, Kayla played D1 volleyball at the University of Nebraska Omaha as an outside hitter. She has been teaching 6th Grade since 2019 and has earned her Masters's Degree in Education. Kayla loves making connections with players, noticing and developing their potential, and helping them grow as well-rounded athletes AND individuals.

J.V. Coach Rian Robinson- This will be Rian's 3rd year coaching for Millard North and her 7th year coaching club volleyball. Rian played high school volleyball at Gretna where she was a state runner-up in 2013 and then went on to play at Morningside College her freshman year and then transferred to Peru State College where she earned All-Conference recognition in 2014 and 2015 as a 6 rotation right-side hitter. Rian currently works as a Senior Project Coordinator in a corporate office and enjoys hanging out at home when she's not at work or volleyball with her husband and their dogs, Millie & Moose, & their cat, Fetty! Volleyball is truly Rian's passion and she hopes that she can pass along her love of the game to the newest generation of volleyball players!

Reserve Coach Monte Scheef

Freshman Coach Stephanie Gade-This fall will be Coach Gade’s 1st year at Millard North. Stephanie played high school volleyball at Osceola High School and graduated in 2007. Upon getting her first teaching position at Westmont Elementary (Springfield-Platteview School District) she coached junior high volleyball her first year and then went on to be the JV coach at Platteview High School the next two years. While working as a JV coach, she was also the South Sarpy Volleyball Program Director. After three years at Platteview High School, she moved to West Point, Nebraska where she was a teacher and club volleyball coach for that program. After that year, she moved to her current position at Kiewit Middle School as a 7th-grade math teacher. For the last two years she has been a JV Coach at Concordia High School. When she is not coaching she enjoys spending time with her dog, Tarheel, and studying Interior Design. She also is the JV Girls Basketball Coach at Millard North.
